Hello, I’m Ciaran Donnelly.

I’m a guitar teacher based in Dundee with over 20 years of experience as a guitarist - writing, playing live and teaching - and a First Class degree in Popular Music (UHI). I’m passionate about helping young people enjoy learning an instrument in a way that feels encouraging and achievable.

My approach is relaxed, supportive and tailored to each student. Some want to learn their favourite songs, others want structure and progression, and some just need a confidence boost - each of these are welcomed in lessons.

I work mainly with primary (P5–P7) and secondary school pupils (S1–S6), from complete beginners through to those looking for more structured development or exam preparation.

I have taught both privately, and for the Youth Music Initiative run by Dundee City Council.

Lessons focus on:

•  Building solid musical foundations
•  Learning music young people actually enjoy
•  Developing confidence and creativity
•  Progressing at a pace that suits the individual learner

I believe that music should feel positive and rewarding, not pressured, and that’s the environment I aim to create for each student.
