CD Guitar School is committed to providing a safe, supportive and respectful environment for all pupils.

 

As guitar lessons are provided to children and young people, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing are taken seriously.

CD Guitar School aims to:

• Treat every pupil with dignity and respect.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

• Provide an environment where pupils feel able to speak about concerns.

• Take safeguarding concerns seriously.

• Respond appropriately if a pupil may be at risk of harm.

Professional Boundaries

​

When working with children and young people, CD Guitar School will maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Communication with pupils will remain professional and related to guitar lessons. Where reasonably practicable, communication and lesson arrangements will involve or be known to the parent/guardian.

Lessons in Pupils’ Homes

​

Lessons take place in the pupil’s home.

Parents/guardians are responsible for the home environment and should be aware of when lessons are taking place.

CD Guitar School may pause or end a lesson if the teaching environment presents a significant safety or safeguarding concern.

Photography and Recording

​

Pupils will not be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes without appropriate consent.

Photography or video consent will be handled separately from the Terms & Conditions.

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, guidance or the way CD Guitar School operates.
